Hi Everyone!
About a week ago I was on the phone with Camile discussing
ways we could motivate each other for the new year…the next day Angela posted
that she was starting a challenge! Thank
you, Angela!
My life has been a little crazy over the past year. I was living in the warm desert of Phoenix,
but had an opportunity to move to NYC so I took it. I was there for about 9 months and at first
did really well, but unfortunately, towards the end the pizza, amazing restaurants, cupcakes,
cookies, havewhateveryouwantwheneveryouwant caught up to me and I ended up
leaving with a 10lb "souvenir"...no good. Then my father passed away unexpectedly about
2 weeks after I got back and I haven’t done a very good job of taking care of myself
leading to a few more pounds. I generally
really enjoy exercise so I’m excited to get back into the groove and feel
better about myself. The sweets and late
night snacking are my biggest downfalls so I’m excited to start making some
lifestyle changes to combat those! (Happy to say day 1 I didn’t have any treats
and I’m not craving any…miracle!)
Right now, I am living in Layton, UT taking some
pre-requisites at the University of Utah for their Masters of Accounting
program. It’s been quite the adjustment
living in Utah. & right now one of
the most difficult things for me is how cold it is and how much that has affected my
motivation to go to the gym or really do anything. So this
challenge is going to force me to get moving!
Excited to get to know all of you…and more excited to see
how these somewhat small and healthy lifestyle changes can lead to big rewards
physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for all of us.
Man oh man Jodi! What a year for you. I'm so sorry about your Dad. Where are you in Layton? I grew up in Kaysville and there it this lovely walking path up by the highway. I'll have to look up the name/address for you. But totally relate to the de-motivating weather. I'm so glad you're in on this one. And maybe we'll get to meet someday.
ReplyDeleteJodi, it's good to see you again (on the blog :). So sorry to hear about your dad. I hope that this year brings wonderful things your way.
