After 8pm Question

So...it was 8:15 last night and my husband offered me a glass of juice. I told him it was after 8pm, and he said, "but it's fruit juice!". I didn't take it, but wanted to get some clarification on the after 8pm rule. It specifically says no eating after 8, but does that include drinking anything except water? Thanks!

  1. My vote is 'Drinking' is not 'Eating' so you are safe. Being pregnant (or nursing) some times it's really hard to go from 8pm until 6am with absolutely nothing.

Others might have different thoughts, though...

  2. The purpose of the no-eating rule is to prevent late-night snacking and give our digestive systems a healthy break. So whether or not to drink something after 8pm is a motivation thing in my mind--whether it's "just 'cause" or because you're low on energy, nursing or pregnant. Thoughts?

  3. I figure long as it isn't just blind calorie consumption (we're talking several root beers here), you're just fine.
    Stay hydrated!

  4. Yes, agreed. Keep healthy...especially those that are pregnant, nursing, or chasing kids down...for me, I probably just need water after 8pm so that's what I'm holding myself to. :)
