Cody

Hello everyone! I'm Cody and I live in Seattle with my husband and two awesome boys who are 3 and 10.5 months. I am so excited to be a part of this challenge! I was just commenting to a friend last week about how I needed something to motivate me to change my habits. It seems many of us need a restart after the holidays and I am no exception. I definitely need to take a look at what I am eating and how much I am exercising. I have always been pretty active and most recently I challenged myself to train and run a half marathon after each of my babies were born. I still don't really consider myself a runner and it has been a great lesson to me in making goals, working hard, and sticking with it. I am proud of my most recent half marathon in October but sad to say I have run only a couple of times since then. Something about the rain, cold weather and lack of motivation that made it easier to hibernate indoors and ignore exercising. I am excited for a new year and new reason to examine my habits.

My personal challenge is to do an ab workout 5 days a week. This is a challenge for me! I know as I keep it up I will feel stronger and more fit. I am finding great workout videos on youtube and so far this week my husband and I have been working out in our living room in the early morning hours before he goes to work. Unfortunately doing jumping jacks and high knees rattles the doors of my sons bedroom and wakes him up. Oops.

My husband has decided that to go along with me doing this challenge he is going to give up sweets for 5 weeks. I have to say we influence each other for good and bad. Him giving up sweets actually helps me limit them as well. We were in a very strong groove of enjoying delicious treats after our boys were in bed. With the no food after 8 rule and my husband's no sweets I am looking good for hopefully getting rid of that nighttime sweet tooth.
